Adilabad, February 15: Police have heightened security for Chief Minister K Rosaiah’s maiden tour to Telangana districts tomorrow in the wake of threats by the TRS that it would thwart his tour.
The TRS is planning to stall the chief minister’s convoy in protest against the inclusion of eliciting the opinions of Andhra people in the Terms of Reference for the Sri Krishna Committee.
The chief minister is scheduled to lay foundation stone for a 600 MW thermal power station at Jaipur mandal headquarters. Addressing mediapersons, TRS MLAs Nallala Odelu and G Aravinda Reddy said they would not allow the chief minister to lay the stone. Even if laid, the plaque and the stone will be removed later, he warned.
They faulted the Centre for not making any mention of Telangana in the Terms of Reference of Sri Krishna Committee. Lamenting that the Centre has been neglecting the opinion of the four-crore people in Telangana, they said committees will yield nothing but only delay T formation.
