Oscar filmmaker harassed in India

There is a major scandal in the brewing after two foreign filmmakers accused the main organiser of the 5th India International Women’s film Festival held in New Delhi of sexual harassment and molestation. In two separate complaints lodged with the Delhi Police, Oscar winning director Jane Campion and Pakistani filmmaker Ayesha Arif Khan have accused Bhaskar Deb, the husband of Festival Director Shyamali Banerjee, of making lewd advance and harassing them during their stay in New Delhi.

The two female filmmakers who were in India to attend the 5th India International Women’s film Festival claimed the two women were forced to leave in a hurry after they discovered that the festival was fraudulent. While the organisers claim that all allegations against them are baseless, TIMES NOW has accessed copies of the complaints sent by the filmmakers to the Minister of Urban Development in which both Oscar winning director Jane Campion and Pakistani Filmmaker, Ayesha Arif khan state they were harassed by the organisers.
