New York: According to latest reports, the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) has discovered millions of tonnes of water on the Moon. NASA’s instrument on Indian spacecraft, Chandrayaan- 1, has made these revelations.
The Chandrayaan – 1 has captured images of at least 40 craters from two to 15 kilometres in diameter, all partially full of ice.NASA estimates there could be at least 600-million metric tonnes of ice in the newly explored area.
NASA had already confirmed the presence of water on the Moon’s surface. The leading space agency believes that the water available on Moon’s surface can sustain the human presence on the Moon
