Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener M Kodandaram today flagged of a 1,000-kmlong Bus Yatra and Mass Contact programme at Gun Park, opposite the Assembly, here today.
Led by the JAC leader, nearly 50 leaders and prominent personalties of the committee took part in the event. The three-day Bus Yatra, consisting of nearly 20 vehicles, will cover several towns and villages in Nalgonda, Khamamm and Warangal districts where leaders will address several public meetings and particpate in the Telangana Dhum Dham programmes.
It will conclude at Warangal on March 23.
Addressing the gathering, Kodandaram called upon the Telangana people to continue their fight till a separate State of Telangana was formed.
“The process for creation of Telangana State was started by the Central Government but leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, having vested interests, were creating hurdles. If Telangana people fight unitedly they can achieve statehood very soon,” he said.
JAC Steering Committee convener and TNGO president Swami Goud, Vittal, Srinivas Goud and others also addressed the gathering.
They declared that they had nothing do with the Srikrishna Committee but would continue the movement.
